If your work makes someone pay his attention, it means, it is done, but to consider it the best makes you die as a Creator.
Eduard Shakhikyan was born in 1950 in Yerevan, Armenia. In 1978, he graduated from the faculty of Sculpture in Yerevan academy of Fine Arts. Since 1968 he is a member of Armenian Artists Union, known before as Soviet Artists Union. Eduard Shakhikyan participated in many republican, interunion and international exhibitions. His works were displayed in Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow) in numerous art galleries of Armenia, private international collections of Italy, Switzerland, France, Greece, Japan, USA, Canada, Estonia, Hungary.
In 2005 in Ashtarak town was located monumental memorial of Eduard Shakhikyan's work to the memory of the famous writer and publicist Vardkes Petrosyan.
In 2007 was located sculptural composition of Eduard Shakhikyan "Nardi playing man".
In 2008 in front of Central Bank of Armenia was located the sculpture to the 15th anniversary of Armenian currency "Dram". Its height is 3.5m.
Eduard Shakhikyan repeatedly participated in world wide Dante Benioliya in Italy.
In 1988 in Florence Eduard Shakhikyan became the owner of international award received Golden Medal for the quality and professional ability. Sharl Aznavour in his collection has work of Eduard Shakhikyan which is called like that "Aznvour".
In 2001 in the uilding of Euorpean Council in Strasburg was located the sculpture "Tamada". At the same year, the president of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan awarded the word Eduard Shakhikyan "The Last Supper" to Papa lowan Paul the second in Vatikan.
In 2010, the president of Armenia, Serj Sarkisyan awarded Eduard Shakhikyan with the highest price in the field of art, giving him medal named "Movses Khorenatsi".
In 2014 Eduard Shakhikyan received the title of "Honored artist-sculptor" in Armenia.
